We tell kids to dream big, but dreaming small can be amazing too! In this case, 9-year-old Grey dreamed of using stickers on his plastic play bricks that he could peel off, rearrange and use again. His parents thought, “hey, that’s a darn good idea” and they created BrickStix.
I met Grey’s dad at Toy Fair this week and he told me how frustrated his son would get trying to remove stickers from his bricks. We hear you, Grey! BrickStix solve that problem and expand the play possibilities for your kids’ play bricks (like LEGO®, SUPER BLOX™, BEST-LOCK®, COBI™and MEGA BLOKS®).
The first three sets are Metro, Space and Transport which include tons of signage, architectural details, pets and a few things that made me chuckle like a mud puddle and car dent. Each set comes with over 80 decals and cost about $6. BrickStix are made in the USA, outside of Milwaukee.
BrickStix made their big debut at Toy Fair and we expect a lot of buyers put in orders so you may see them cropping up soon in your local toy stores. They are already in a handful of stores across the country and you can order them directly through the BrickStix website.
As his dad told me, Grey already thinks this enterprise is a success – just seeing his idea come to life has been a thrill. High five Grey!
